The Hat Lek / Cham Yeam (Koh Kong) border crossing is officially open from 7.00 am until 20.00 pm. This border crossing is notorious for over-charging by the Cambodian officials. Occasionally on the Thai side a urine test is required to check for recent drug abuse.
Currently there is no direct bus services between Sihanoukville and destinations in Thailand. If you buy a ‘thru-ticket’ you will have to walk through the border and change buses. You will be expected to show your ticket for each part of the journey so don’t discard it until you reach your final destination.
